Topic 1: Year End Best Practices
🎶It’s the payroll pressure! Oooh it cracks my brain like so! Year-end terror – W-2’s are way too slow! 🎶
Don't let Year-End have you feeling Under Pressure! Join us for a comprehensive session designed to help payroll professionals navigate the critical year-end process with accuracy and confidence. This session covers best practices to prepare for year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
Whether you’re a seasoned payroll pro or supporting year-end for the first time, this training will provide practical guidance, tips, and updates to ensure a smooth and compliant closeout.

Topic 2: Overpayments & Repayments
Do Overpayments & Repayments have you singing "Save Me - Save Me - SAVE ME!!!!"?
In this session we will focus on the permissible actions that can be taken for recovering overpayments and salary advances. In addition, we will explore available options as it relates to the repayment obligations for departing employees as outlined in the company policies. The session will wrap up with a brief discussion of the resulting tax impacts and tax filing requirements.

Outreach:

Second Story transforms the lives of children, youth and their families by providing safe havens and opportunities for them to grow and thrive. Their programs provide support at critical turning points in their lives.
- Second Story for Homeless Youth and Second Story for Young Mothers offer long-term housing as well as life skills support, counseling, and assistance with basic needs.
- Second Story for Teens in Crisis provides a short-term place to stay for youth in crisis, plus individual and family counseling.
- Second Story in the Community provides drop-in centers for families and after-school programs for youth who need more support outside their homes; many of them living in communities where human trafficking, violence, and gang activity are prevalent.
Though these safe spaces are the first step, they also work closely with youth and families to help them achieve their goals and work toward self-sufficiency, breaking cycles of homelessness, abuse, and poverty. All of their programs are located in Northern Virginia, though depending on the circumstance youth outside of our community can receive support as well.
Second Story was founded in 1972 and has a longstanding history of youth services and support. Their programs have grown and evolved as the needs of our community have changed, and they continue to work toward our vision of a community in which all young people are safe, live in a nurturing environment and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
For 2025, WMAC has set a fundraising goal of $3,000.00. WMAC will match all donations made to Second Story through our website. Click here to be taken to the donations page.
