Ashley Falls, CPP

Ashley Falls, CPP is the Director of Global Payroll Operations at Under Armour in Baltimore, MD. Prior to her current position, Ashley held progressive payroll positions at companies such as CGI, ICF, and Vencore. Ashley began her payroll career in 2007 at Apptis in Chantilly, Virginia; where she was responsible for processing in-house. Ashley enjoys participating in system implementations and conversions, SOX compliance, policy and procedure updates, and restructuring and development of payroll departments.  Ashley has been a member of the APA and local WMAC chapter since 2010. On the weekends Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends; and traveling when time allows.

Whether you are currently certified or are interested in obtaining your certification, this session will help you understand how to leverage your payroll certification to take you further in your payroll career. Ashley will share the experience that helped her get to a Payroll Director level.

Julia Lopez Divack, CPP

Julia Lopez Divack, CPP is the Payroll Team Lead at Booz Allen Hamilton in Herndon, VA. Julia began her payroll career in 2006 as a Payroll Technician at Northern VA Training Center, a state agency that was home to people with Intellectual Disabilities. Julia has 12 years payroll and over 20 years customer service experience. Julia became a member of WMAC-APA in 2007; has served on the Education committee in 2010; Secretary from 2014 to 2017 and currently serves as the WMAC President-Elect.

Topic: “The ‘secret’ ingredient to improving customer service - understanding emotional intelligence”

Understandably employees can be emotional when they have payroll issues big or small. This session will teach you how to improve the customer service you provide your employees by understanding emotional intelligence and using that knowledge to your advantage. We will give you the tools to handle the employee or staff issue you encounter.

Sarah Truman, MPA, CPP

Sarah Truman, MPA, CPP is the Director of Payroll at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington DC. Sarah started her payroll management career in 1996 and earned her CPP in 2017. During her career Sarah has been an HR manager, Benefit manager, IT manager, and a stint as a Sr. Staff Accountant. More recently Sarah has specialized in Global Payroll and System implementations.  Sarah is a member of the national APA and local WMAC. In her spare time, Sarah has a passion for patient rights in healthcare and has led a publication in Dermatology and Therapy called "Building a Citizen Pscientist: Advancing Patient-Centered Psoriasis Research by Empowering Patients as Contributors and Analysts"
