This session will discuss upcoming changes for Payroll Professionals. We will look at accelerated Form W-2 filing deadlines, same day ACH, and other updates coming our way. Don’t let these important changes take you by surprise!
About Our Speakers
Bernie Nolan is a 1985 graduate of George Washington University with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer. He worked as a manager in the transit industry prior to joining Global Cash Card as a Regional Sales Manager over 13 years ago.
Daniel Dycus, CPP is the Senior Director of Education Services for the American Payroll Association. In this role, Dan has the overall responsibility of the Education Division for the APA.
Dan’s responsibilities include all of the in-person education classes, virtual classes, webinars and webinars on-demand for the APA. Dan oversees the Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force, along with its ten subcommittees, Strategic Accounts Payable Leadership Task Force and the Shared Services Task Force.
In addition, Dan’s team teaches the CPP and FPC Bootcamp courses.
Dan represents APA by teaching APA courses, speaks at APA events and the events of other organizations. He also helps in the planning of the APA Annual Congress, Fall Forum and Educational Institutions Payroll Conference.
Before joining APA in 2015, Dan was the Senior Manager of Accounting for Intelsat Corporation where he managed the Global Payroll and Payroll Accounting Department. During his 25 year career, Dan has managed payroll, accounts payable, benefits and accounting for a variety of organizations.
Dan is a member of the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter, Colonial Capital Chapter and the Charles Town West Virginia Chapter. Dan obtained his CPP designation in 1999.
Curtis (“Curt”) Tatum, Esq. is Senior Manager of Payroll Information Resources for the American Payroll Association. He is the Managing Editor of Payroll Currently, APA’s monthly compliance newsletter. Curt endeavors to keep APA members informed about the impact of new legislative and regulatory developments. He also works closely with APA’s Electronic Payments Committee (EPC) and helps coordinate the annual update to The Guide to Successful Electronic Payments.
Before joining APA In 2013, Curt worked as a staff attorney at the University of Baltimore School of Law Tax Clinic. He also spent several years working at the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation.
Curt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and Eastern European Studies from Middlebury College, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is an attorney and a member of the Maryland Bar.

A little about Wreaths Across America: The mission, Remember, Honor and Teach, is carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies on a specified Saturday in December at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as veteran cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond. They organize a week of events including international veteran's tributes, ceremonies at State Houses and a week-long "Veteran's Parade" between Maine and Virginia where they stop along the way to spread the message about the importance of remembering our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms.
